Lead Role Audition

Lead role opportunities are open! Twinkle Dance is thrilled to announce Lead Role Audition for our 2025 Showcase, Snow White! This is an exclusive chance to shine in the spotlight and bring this beloved story to life.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Performers aged 7-15 are eligible to apply. (birth year in 2009-2017)
• The audition is in a video format, only the shortlisted candidates will be the lead roles of the show. The roles will be assigned by Twinkle Dance.
• If a student is selected to take on a lead role in the showcase, they will not be able to perform a dance/musical theater number with their regular class due to the show’s schedule.
• Performers have to demonstrate a serious and professional manner in the show. And be committed, enthusiastic and diligent towards the assigned role. Please check out the application and rehearsal class details to ensure you are available to commit before applying for the audition. 

📣VIDEO AUDITION DETAILS

• The audition will be in the format of a video submission.
• The audition video should include three parts: 1) A short self-introduction including name and age. 2) Monologue from the options provided. 3) Sing a chorus from any song.
• Candidates should submit their audition video on or before December 15th, 2024
• Audition results will be announced via email on or before December 22nd, 2024

VIDEO SUBMISSION

The video can be submitted in any of the following formats (mov, mp4 or wmv). Please upload the video to online sharing platforms (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer, etc.) and enable viewing permission before sending the link to event@twinkledance.com / Whatsapps 66086803

VIDEO SHOOTING NOTE

• The shooting environment should be well-lit and the sound should be clear. You may videotape the audition using phones or cameras
• The video must be one-take-through, editing is NOT allowed. The video must be filmed with a still angle, and the applicant’s full body must be clearly seen. 

Hints: we are looking for candidates who are strong at:  

1. Clear vocal projection
2. Natural and smooth body gestures (some dance steps will be incorporated between lines!)

Shortlisted candidates who submit the application form before November 30th, 2024, can choose one of the rewards below to enjoy between February to April 2025. Quotas of each reward are limited and on a first-come-first-served basis. Details are to be announced in January 2025.

LEGOLAND Fun Day: Complimentary Student Ticket & Family Discount

Sponsored by LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Hong Kong, each student will receive a complimentary standard admission ticket, along with a special price of $199 per person for at most two family members (originally $240). Families can enjoy an exciting day exploring the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre together for a memorable adventure!

*Students must be accompanied by an adult.

Glitter Glow: Stage-Ready Makeup Workshop + Glitter Gift

Delve into the world of glitter and master the art of stage-ready makeup. This hands-on workshop enables students to learn the use of different makeup products and improve make-up skills. It will be held at Twinkle Dance Studios during Easter Break.

*Glitter gifts will be distributed in the workshop.

APPLICATION DETAILS (For shortlisted candidates)

The application fee is $4380, which includes:

1. 1. 17 REHEARSAL CLASSES
   2. 1 ON-STAGE REHEARSAL
   3. COSTUME – A specially designed costume by tutulamb (valued $980)
   4. PERFORMANCE VIDEO – Distributed in soft-copies
   5. STAGE PERFORMANCE PHOTOS – Digital access to all photos by official photographer
   6. PROFESSIONAL STUDIO PHOTOSHOOT SERVICE – with hair styling & posture direction 
   7. PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATE

*Show tickets, dance tights, shoes, photoshoot photos are not included.

REHEARSAL CLASS DETAILS

REHEARSAL CLASS ARRANGEMENT

• Performers must attend not less than 90% of rehearsal classes in order to ensure the highest standards of performance. 
• Extra rehearsals might be scheduled when closer to the performance date if necessary.
• In case of absence in rehearsal classes, no make-up class, credit, deduction, or refund will be offered

PERFORMANCE DETAILS

• The performance date and time will be assigned by Twinkle Dance and will be announced in February 2025. No performance date requests will be accepted and the assigned date cannot be changed. Performers may perform at more than one show. Please reserve all the above days to ensure your availability. 
• For performers who have enrolled in the show with their siblings/parents, we will try to arrange for performers to be in the same show but not guaranteed to be able to arrange it.

ON-STAGE REHEARSAL

All performers are required to attend an on-stage rehearsal. Families and friends are not allowed to enter the theatre/backstage area during rehearsals. 

COSTUME & APPEARANCE

• Performers are required to visit one of our studios for costume measurement by January 10th 2025. 
• Costume fitting and collection will be arranged on the studio photoshoot day. 
• In case the costume does not fit, a complimentary alteration service will only be provided within the collection period (to be announced).
• Performers are required to purchase proper ballet or jazz shoes, dance tights and hair sets (hair net and pins) according to the costume outlook. Peach pink leather ballet shoes/black leather jazz shoes (full leather without any patterns), and peach pink/black dance tights (without any patterns) are required when necessary. 
• Performers are responsible for keeping their costumes safe and clean for the performance. 
• Performers have to do hairstyling and make-up on their own on the performance day.

PROFESSIONAL STUDIO PHOTOSHOOT SERVICE

A complimentary professional photoshoot service will be offered to all performers. Performers will be directed by our teachers and have solo shots taken by professional photographers in their beautiful dance costumes. The lead role students must participate in the studio photoshoot as the main character’s photos will be displayed in the show program book.

• The photoshoot will be arranged on weekends or public holidays in March/April 2025, performers can reserve their time slot on a first-come-first-served basis. Reservation details will be announced in February 2025.
• Teachers will assist with hair styling (ballet bun) and posture direction *makeup is not included.
• Photos are not included in the application fee, it will be on sale for ordering and delivered in soft-copies on/ after show days.

TICKETING

Show tickets are NOT included in the application fee. Tickets will be available at any URBTIX box office in Hong Kong or online. Tickets on sale date will be announced in February 2025.

• No tickets are required for performers, they will stay at backstage with Twinkle Dance’s teacher and staff until the end of the show.
• All tickets are sold on a first-come-first-served basis.
• No tickets are available for sale/reservation at Twinkle Dance. 
• Sold tickets are not refundable or exchangeable.
• For performers scheduled to perform on a different show from their siblings or parents, TWO free tickets will be granted per family. Details will be announced. 

SHOW DAY ARRANGEMENT

• All performers must stay with Twinkle Dance’s teachers and staff until the end of the show and for the final bow. Pick-up during intermission is NOT allowed.
• Parents and guardians are not allowed to enter the theater and backstage area during on-stage rehearsals nor during the show.

SPECIAL HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES

• If a performer feels unwell or appears unsuitable to perform, Twinkle Dance reserves the right to withdraw the student from the performance. Application fees and tickets will not be refunded in such circumstances. 
• Performers have to follow the health and safety guidelines of Twinkle Dance and the Theater. Twinkle Dance and the Theater staff have the right to deny the admission of any performers and audiences who do not meet the health and safety guidelines into the theater. Application fees and tickets will not be refunded in such circumstances.

REFUND POLICY (only applicable to specific events)

Application fee paid under the Twinkle Dance Showcase is non-refundable under any circumstances including non-controllable events. However, in the specific events of epidemics and/or pandemics, government regulations or restrictions imposed by the HKSAR Government that lead to the cancellation of the Twinkle Dance Showcase, the performance will be rescheduled within 6 months or a refund of the application fee after deducting the $980 costume fee will be arranged. Twinkle Dance reserves the right to cancel the event(s) in relation to the Twinkle Dance Showcase. Any dispute connected to the refund will be resolved at the absolute discretion of Twinkle Dance Company Limited.

Twinkle Dance Company Limited regrets that the application and costumes fees are non-refundable under any circumstances (including any medical conditions/ certificates) except for the stated specific events under the Refund Policy section.
